Company and Project Background

Ingersoll-Rand ( Fribourg, Switzerland), a Fortune 500 company, is a global manufacturer of air compressors and compressed air machinery.  Ingersoll-Rand’s logistics management legacy system processed orders and inquiries from distributors to warehouses worldwide.  The legacy system was not reliable or able to adapt easily to changing business needs.

 

Our Solution

Softline Group replaced the entire legacy system with a single web-based solution. Softline Group designed, architected, and implemented a secure web-based solution. The existing business rules were completely reengineered using secure solution tools: LDAP, SSL, HTTPS, Backups, Monitoring and Logging.  Both the “new” and “old” systems were designed to operate in synchronous mode with interoperability.

Company and Project Background

Ukrtelecom is Ukraine’s primary network "backbone for the national telephone company. This telecommunications provider, which encompasses 12 technical maintenance centers and 137 division offices, requested a system that would automate their operational business processes with an Operational Support System / Business Support System (OSS/BSS). The project objectives were to:

  • Cover all centers and divisions;
  • Provide a comprehensive data warehouse for all primary network resources;
  • Provide flexibility for business rules and process changes;
  • Increase the availability and reliability of network services;
  • Increase profits by using more of the infrastructure more efficiently.

Our Solution

The project required development and deployment of a comprehensive inventory management system, with physical (SDH, DWDM, Ethernet etc.) network resources, logical network resources, fault management, mediation management, and network planning.  Following analysis, Softline Group also designed a budgeting and financial planning tool.  Softline Group distributed and installed this system at all centers and divisions and performed staff training.

The Ukrainian Postal Service was in need of an integrated financial management system.  The various levels within the agency; from the General Directorate to regional post offices and district post offices each had separate accounting applications.  Due to difficulties in consolidation, more than one month was required to prepare consolidated financial reports. Reporting was inaccurate and required significant manual intervention, including data entry.  As only the consolidated data was available, it was impossible to drill down into detail data to reconcile or resolve mistakes.  Softline Group was asked to create a straightforward, consolidated business process system.

Softline Group delivered a uniform and integrated financial management information system for all levels of the postal service.  The structure of the system allowed authorized maintenance of the business tax and management accounting functions.  The system is implemented in the 21 regions of Ukraine and in the General Directorate.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is the highest governmental body within the Executive Branch.  In a move to simplify information sharing and create better transparency for Ukrainian citizens, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers wanted to establish an e-Government portal that would offer quick and effortless access to all services and documentation, providing the general public with the support they need.

 

Our Solution

Softline Group developed a powerful, scalable, extendable, and secure platform for building e-Government services, and consolidated and streamlined the existing government web resources.  The portal includes various services and sections customized for each target community, with an interface offered in three languages.  The platform addresses all security requirements and was developed to adapt to any organizational or process changes

Ukrainian Mobile Communications (UMC), a leading mobile operator in Ukraine, serves approximately 14.6 million subscribers.  The company was looking to offer a pre-paid service as a way to better serve their customers' billing needs.  UMC sought ways to manage their clients’ prepaid accounts as well as gather and maintain statistical and reporting data.


Our Solution

Softline Group developed “Puma” (Prepaid User Management Application).  In conjunction with existing applications, the Puma system enables the complete operational range for prepaid services, statistical reporting, data gathering, primary processing, and future functional growth based on standard web-based interfaces.

The Ukrainian Air Services Agency, KiyAvia Joint Stock Company, works with more than 500 airlines world-wide.  KiyAvia needed a new system solution to improve the speed and accuracy of their data gathering system.  Their highly paper-based and phone-based processes meant that their business systems were often out of synch with the actual status of services and sales, resulting in incorrect and/or delayed revenue recognition and reporting.

 

Our Solution

Softline Group automated the status update processes and created a corporate enterprise management information system that tracks all outstanding update requests and their status. In addition, the system handles all reporting, sales, financial services, and account management activities with airlines and other agencies, as well as communication between branch offices and the main office.

Ukrainian State Employment Office

Company and Project Background:

The State Employment Office of Ukraine is a large governmental agency comprised of 648 district employment centers and 27 regional employment centers. Their legacy system, written in the Clipper environment, was used in approximately 400 of the office’s employment centers. Over time, this system became outdated and inefficient, and unable to handle major policy and process changes within the agency.  In addition, the system:

  • Did not cover the State and the regional levels;
  • Did not have data distribution and consolidation functionality;
  • Broke down often leading to the time consuming process of reconstructing lost data.

Our Solution

Softline Group developed an Integrated Information Analytical System (IIAS) to accommodate needs at the district, regional and state levels. The system fully supports new policies of the State Employment Office. The system is distributed nation-wide and includes data distribution and dictionary synchronization functionality. The system, completed in Q1 2004, is currently implemented at all Employment centers. Softline Group helped create and implement new business processes and procedures, and aided in the ergonomic arrangement of offices and work areas.
